SecureKAF: Your Enhanced Security for Smoother, Safer Online Transactions
KAF Digital Bank introduces SecureKAF, for enhanced security. KAF DB's SecureKAF simplifies authentication to a quick 1-tap "Approve" or "Reject" pop-up on your smartphone for legitimate transactions.
SecureKAF's primary goal is to significantly reduce unauthorised transaction risks and bolster your online payment security. You'll only receive SecureKAF requests for genuine transactions you initiate. If multiple authentications are needed around the same time, they will appear sequentially on your screen (oldest first), ensuring you have clear control.
How KAF Digital Bank Uses SecureKAF to Ensure Safer Banking For You
SecureKAF extends its functionality beyond just online card security to encompass a range of vital banking actions:
- Approve Transfers & Payments: SecureKAF plays a crucial role in authenticating and approving various transfers and payments. This includes all bank and money transfers, alongside DuitNow Transfers initiated via an account number or a DuitNow ID. It also covers DuitNow QR transactions, including making online payments to merchants.
- Approve Online Card Transactions: SecureKAF is always used for online merchant payments with your virtual Debit Card. SecureKAF is also used to verify and approve a variety of card-related actions, such as card activation or setting your card's PIN, adding an extra layer of security to your card management.
- Secure Communications: SecureKAF also serves as KAF Digital Bank's verification platform for secure two-way communication. This is especially crucial for sensitive matters like verifying your identity, securely receiving documents, and confirming requests, providing you with peace of mind. It's important to note that if you initiate communication with a customer service agent via WhatsApp or by call and they don't ask you to verify your identity through SecureKAF, it's highly likely a scam. Always ensure proper verification for your security.
How to Authorise Transactions with SecureKAF
Authorising your transactions through SecureKAF is straightforward, depending on your login status:
- Via Push Notification: When you receive a push notification for a transaction, tap on it. You will be prompted to securely log in to the KAF DB app via Biometric login or by entering the app PIN that was set. Once logged in, you'll be automatically directed to the SecureKAF screen, where you can review the transaction details (like transaction ID, date & time, amount, and merchant name) and then tap "Approve" or "Reject"
- Via the Dashboard Quicklink or Three-Line Menu: If you do not receive a Push Notification, you can also access pending SecureKAF authentication requests directly from your App Dashboard. You may also tap the three-line Menu icon, typically located on your app's main dashboard. Select "SecureKAF" from the menu options. This will navigate you to the Request Details screen, where you can review the transaction and then "Approve" or "Reject"
After you tap "Approve" or "Reject" for any transaction, an acknowledgement screen will instantly appear. This screen will clearly indicate whether the authentication for your transaction was successful or failed. You may also be taken to a confirmation of Transaction Details screen, which you may then share or export.
What To Do When Receiving a SecureKAF Request For A Transaction You Didn’t Initiate
If you unexpectedly receive a SecureKAF request that you do not recognise, you should reject the request immediately and report it to our Customer Service via Secure Message in the app or any of our other channels. It could be a sign that someone’s trying to perform an unauthorised transaction, so it’s important you act fast. We’ll check the activity and advise if any further action is needed, like changing your password or reviewing your recent transactions.
Is There A Time Limit To Approve Or Reject A SecureKAF Request?
Yes, SecureKAF requests do expire. Users usually have a few minutes (around 3–5 mins) to respond. If you don’t act within that time, the request will expire automatically, and the transaction won’t go through. This is to ensure only real-time approvals are accepted.
If Your Phone Gets Lost or Stolen, How To Protect Your SecureKAF Authorisation?
Please let us know immediately so that the eBanking Access (Kill Switch) can be activated, either by calling our hotline or through other official channels. The SecureKAF access linked to the lost device will be blocked. Before setting it up on a new phone, you’ll need to go through the recovery process. For more information on this topic, please visit our FAQ on our eBanking Access here.
SecureKAF is one of the many features of KAF Digital Bank's commitment to your digital safety. This quick extra step greatly reduces unauthorised card use, giving you peace of mind online. Your security is our priority, and SecureKAF helps ensure a safer banking experience.
